3 Reasons You Should Visit the Caribbean On Spring Break

Okay, so you're probably thinking, "Why are you talking about spring break already? Summer is just barely over!" Well, the reality of it is, I live in Wisconsin, where we have a beautiful summer and, if lucky, a gorgeous fall. Then before you know it, BAM, it's winter! And I'm telling you, the winters here last FOREVER and are so cold!

The only thing I love about winter is escaping it.

Once the weather starts turning colder, I start setting my sights on escaping to anywhere warm. And if money wasn't an issue, I'd be heading straight to the Caribbean.

Why choose the Caribbean?

I've got three great reasons you should visit the Caribbean on your next spring break.

  1. Escape the cold in the year-round warm weather.
  2. Enjoy the beautiful white, sandy beaches and crystal clear water.
  3. Experience the culture and cuisine of the Caribbeans.

Caribbean Weather

White, Sandy Beaches and Turquoise Water
One of the best times to travel to the Caribbean in terms of weather is during spring break. Both the hurricane and wet season have passed, and temps reach a high of 83°F and a low of 73°F. The weather couldn't be more perfect for escaping long, cold winters.

Robert Curley, a freelance writer and guidebook author specializing in Caribbean Island and Rhode Island travel, agrees.
"The weather is dependably warm and dry, and the time is right to head to the islands if you have a vacation from work or school around Easter or Spring Break."
The Caribbean weather is ideal for any getaway. So whether you're looking for some R&R or seeking adventure, the weather will be perfect.

White Sandy Beaches and Crystal Clear Water

Blue Skies and Even Bluer Water
Is there anything better than sinking your toes into soft, white sand while looking out into beautiful, crystal clear water? That right there is just a little slice of heaven.

The Caribbean is known for its amazing beaches and the bluest water you'll ever see. It's not only perfect for relaxing, but there's plenty of adventure to be had as well, from sailing, boating, and scuba diving, to swimming and snorkeling with the beautiful sea life.

Caribbean Culture and Cuisine

Visiting another culture is always fun and exciting, and the Caribbean is no exception. The WorldAtlas describes the Caribbean culture as a "beautiful blend of colonial and native elements shaped by each country’s socio-cultural experiences." It is a beautiful mix of languages, music, cuisine, and customs. The people are warm, inviting, and vibrant.

Cuisine to the Caribbeans is more than just food to feed the body. It is wrapped in a rich heritage and focused on family and friends. It's almost like an event vs. just a meal.

I could give you many more reasons to visit the Caribbean, but I think the three reasons above are pretty convincing enough. I can picture it now, can you?

Toes in the sand, warm sun on my skin, fruity umbrella drink in one hand, and book in the other.

Have I got you daydreaming? Ready to book your flight? Let me know in the comments if you're joining me on the beach or having an adventure in the water.

  1. Hi Dawn! I love your idea of spending spring break in the Caribbean. Even the water is warm that time of year! And I would join you both on the beach and in the water. I liked your ordered list. Even though it isn't steps, you said three reasons, so I think numbering them is appropriate. I also liked your blue, italicized font. Perfect for a beach topic!
