Here's Why You Need to Book a Trip to Iceland

You do not need to travel far into Iceland to see breathtaking landscapes, indescribable beauty, and jaw-dropping sights. From the exotic waterfalls to the appealing hot springs, you will not want to leave this amazing country. Today, we are going to look at some must-visit destinations that Iceland offers to its visitors.

Stunning Waterfalls

Skógáfoss Waterfall in Iceland
There are a plethora of beautiful waterfalls in Iceland, all of which are worthwhile to visit, but there is one Iceland waterfall that you cannot afford to miss out on! The massive expanse of surrounding rocks and water plummeting down 200 ft from an 82 ft breadth makes Skógáfoss waterfall one of the largest waterfalls in all of Iceland. Imagine approaching this humungous waterfall. Stepping up to its powerful current and being surrounded by the thick soup of misty spray while the water plummets down beside you.

Lara M. from Cornwall, UK describes it this way in her tripadvior.com review of the Skógáfoss waterfall:

“[This is] one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen. This is an amazing waterfall. The vast amount of water is just unimaginable. Very impressive, makes a great photo as you can walk right up to it.”

This is one of many tourist reviews that described the falls as magnificent, powerful, and simply spectacular. Don’t miss out on this fundamental Iceland landmark!

Famous Black Sand Beaches

Tourist on the Black Sand Beaches of Iceland

As you walk across these flat land beaches, the sand divots under your weight and the waves crash on the shore. The misty wind blows through your hair, and you take a deep breath in and smell the fresh, unaltered air. Nothing can quite match the exhilaration that walking an Iceland black sand beach can give you.  Liliya in her blog post titled "The Best 8 Black Sand Beaches In Iceland", states the best black sand beaches to visit in Iceland. That list names the following beaches:

Each of these beaches demonstrates an unimaginable beauty that stretches as for as the eye can see. We could not pick just one to suggest to our readers because they are all worth visiting!
Magical Hot Springs

Hveravellir Hot Springs in Iceland
You cannot leave Iceland without experiencing the glorified hot springs. Our favorite hot springs destination is Hveravellir. Considered one of the most beautiful hot springs in all of Iceland, these heated springs are located in one of the last great wilderness areas in all of Europe! Well equipped with geothermally heated springs and natural steaming amenities, this is worth an Icelandic visit in itself!

You may stop reading at this point feeling convinced that you should visit Iceland, but that dream may be fatally murdered if you think that you are too busy, do not want to spend the money, or do not want to plan a big trip. These are major conflicts that result in most individuals laying aside their traveling dreams, but I want to remind you that we only have one life, and these beautiful places are not going to be explorable forever. The entire world is at our fingertips: Will we answer the call before it is too late?

  1. I love your writing style, Kayla! I like that you chose gray in the subheadings and the orange in the picture captions. I think your use of bolding and italics worked well too. The images really complimented the story and helped me picture what I might see in Iceland. You definitely made me want to visit Iceland. It looks stunning! Your unordered list with the beaches was a great addition and looks like it is formatted correctly and consistently. Great post!!

  2. Hi Kayla, I really enjoyed your post! I love your choice of heading font color, it seemed appropriate for Iceland. Your unordered list was useful also, but wow, the pronunciations! Lastly, I like your call to action; it gave a real sense of urgency.
