Major in Professional Communications
Overview
If writing is something you are passionate about and want to pursue in the future, CVTC's Professional Communications program is the right choice for you! This program teaches writers the skills that will allow them to excel in the workplace, whether you are writing proposals, technical documents, or business blogs. Through this program, students will be able to work in various fields, including (but not limited to) government, business, project management, and non-profit.
Learning Methods
The Professional Communications program is 100% online, allowing students the flexibility to learn on their own time from any location. Students will learn through a variety of in-class activities and group or individual projects. Core program courses are eight weeks long and include editing and proofreading, document design, proposal and grant writing, and much more!

Students will learn a variety of desirable skills, including:
- Document Design in Word
- Document Development
- Publishing in Print and Electronic Media
- Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Literacy Theories
- Digital Content Writing
