How to make a delicious, yet simple family meal in under 30 minutes!

Mom's delicious Chicken and Vegetables over Steamed Rice

Are you looking to make a simple and easy meal for your family on a typical, crazy Tuesday evening? Well, look no further. Mom's delicious chicken and vegetables over steamed rice is one of the easiest meals around! The kids will love it, and you will love how simple it is to prepare.

Are you ready for this, or ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

Here we go!

Gather the ingredients.

You will need:

  • 2 cups of rice
  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1 container of chicken broth
  • 2 cups of fresh veggies of your choice

Simple, right?

Once you've gathered the ingredients, it is time to start.

Time to start cookin'!

It is important to cook this meal in order. If you use this step-by-step order, you will save yourself a lot of time. AND you will end up saving yourself from hearing, "Is dinner ready yet?"

  1. Begin frying up the chicken in a pan
  2. Cut up veggies of your choice
  3. Place the veggies in a pan to fry
  4. Pour the rice and chicken broth into a pot

While the chicken is frying at medium heat, cut up 2 cups of the veggies of your choice. Once the veggies are cut to your liking, throw them into a pan for frying as well.

Pour 2 cups of rice and a whole container of chicken broth into a medium-sized pot. Cooking the rice in the chicken broth will give it an exciting new flavor. You will love it!

Once everything is fully cooked, place the rice into a casserole dish. Then lay the chicken and vegetables on the bed of rice. Feel free to add any sauces or seasonings that you and your family enjoy!

And just like that, dinner is ready!

  1. I love the engagement you used in your writing! It truly intrigued me and made me excited to continue reading. I truly appreciated the use of your lists- it was very organized and fit perfectly into the material you presented. It helped me to be able to digest (no pun intended :) the steps for creating this delicious meal. You successfully formatted and utilized the ordered list with the step-by-step for creating the meal and a unordered list for the ingredients. Well done!

  2. Loved your writing style here and the headline is great! I like the bulleted (unordered) list for ingredients and numbered (ordered) list for the cooking steps. It helps the reader follow the list in order.

I was going back and forth on the different font sizes in the post and decided that I like it. It makes the lists stand out and easy to find in the post. The white space also helps break up the content. The use of the font color and bolding specific items helped make important pieces stand out.

As far as formatting of your lists, I saw this on another post too so I'm starting to really question myself. It's regarding the formatting on your numbered list. I am not confident but how I understood it, bulleted lists should not have a period at the end of each line but if numbered lists are full sentences, then those should have a period. However, your formatting is consistent so it could be correct. Either way, I think you have a great post!
