3.4 Shelby Reyes-Lueptow Writing 1

 March 16, 2019 - March 19, 2019

We all grew up watching Disney whether it was the classic movies or the mid-2000’s shows like The Suite Life of Zach and Cody. We all dreamed of going to Disney World to experience fun memories, and live in the moment of our childhood dreams like visiting Cinderella’s Castle. You know that phrase, “Where Dreams Come True?” Well...

I was a senior in high school, so I have been waiting four years for this trip. Every four years, my high school band takes a trip to Disney World for a small-town band like us to perform on a stage at Disney Springs. I was filled with excitement since this was my first time going to Florida, Orlando and going to Disney World with my best friends/classmates.

Traveling to the Future

We arrived at around 6 a.m. to catch our flight at Minneapolis-Saint-Paul Airport and arrived at our hotel early that morning. We had the rest of the day to have fun at our first park, Epcot. Epcot allowed its guests to time travel to the future; it truly was the best since it had many rides that allowed us to open our minds and spark our imagination.

Action-Packed Fun

On our second day, we traveled to Universal Studios where there were many fun, thrilling attractions like the Wizarding World. We went to attractions like “Revenge of the Mummy,” “Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit,” and “Transformers 3D.” I would consider Universal Studios to be my favorite theme park at Disney World just because I enjoy the thrilling attraction rides.

Happily Ever After!

Magic Kingdom on the third day of the band trip. My friends and I got to visit and take pictures of the iconic Cinderella Castle which was bigger than I expected. I remember our first ride was “Space Mountain,” which allowed us to blast off into space! Later in the afternoon, we got to watch the Disney parade around the castle which consisted of a variety of Disney characters like Goofy from Mickey Mouse to Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. Our night ended with the Enchanting Fireworks show at Cinderella’s Castle. It was a “Happily Ever After” moment.

Mondovi takes on Disney Springs!

It was our last day at Disney, we got to perform some of the band's favorite pieces on stage. Disney Springs was a calming experience since it allowed us to walk around and visit many Disney merchandise stores and Chef-inspired restaurants.

Overall, this is an experience of a lifetime that I will never forget; my dreams did come true.
