5 Reasons Maui Should Be on the Top of Your Bucketlist

After reading these hidden treasures, you’ll be booking a trip to Maui.

Flying to Maui from Wisconsin is nearly a ten-hour flight and a five-hour time difference. So as you begin preparing for your journey to the island, you should add additional days to compensate for your jet lag. Even though your butt will be sore and you lose your first day to sleep deprivation, this is sure to be a trip of a lifetime.

Whether you’re looking to get leid or try some fresh pineapple, Hawaii is definitely the place to go. But don’t be a tourist the entire time you are there. Check out these five hidden treasures that will put Maui on the top of your bucket list.

  1. Black Sand Beach
    Black Sand Beaches

Our first hidden treasure can be secretly found along the Road to Hana. While you’re enjoying the breathtaking views, pull over to step foot in this rare find. It may seem like another beach to some, but as you step into the sand you’ll notice the black hue to the tiny pebbles.

  1. The Freshest Sushi You’ve Ever Had

Ever wonder what it would be like to eat sushi from fish that was caught that day? Then adding Miso Phat Sushi to your itinerary is a must! The restaurant, which was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, only serves fresh sushi. The owner spends his morning on his boat Sheso Phat fishing to catch the food you’ll later be eating!

  1. Swimming With Turtles the Size of Your Toddler

There is a turtle cove where you can snorkel with turtles that are the size of your toddler. If you aren’t scared, you can even swim right over them feeling their shells! Although you can see turtles at most of the beaches around Maui, getting into the turtle cove you’ll enjoy the privacy as well as a nest of turtles, so you can see all different sizes.

  1. Cliff Jumping

Jumping off a cliff isn’t for the faint of heart, but the exhilarating feeling of freefalling next to a waterfall, in the serene peaceful atmosphere of Maui is something you don’t want to miss out on. There is a range of heights for those who want to jump, but need a little reassurance on the distance.

  1. Lava Flows, Need I Say More

Come to Maui for the views, stay for the lava flows. A sweet combination of strawberry daiquiri and pina colada. Sounds like something you could make in the midwest, but it just goes down better looking at the ocean with black sand between your toes. The cabana boy throws in one of those cute little drink umbrellas and you’ll swear you died and went to heaven.

Road to Hana View

Now, you'll be in Hawaii, so don't miss out on the luau's and sunshine, but now you have the secrets to enjoying the best of Maui without looking like a total tourist, be sure to book your flight on Delta with Comfort Plus. 2. Nice work with this blog post, Brittney! Based on your explanations and photos, Maui is a dream destination. It looks beautiful. Including a list with these five hidden treasures was a great idea. Readers will feel like they are getting a sneak peek into this place before stepping foot there.

A way that I think you could add more personality and appeal to this piece is through color and bolding. It would really bring the post to life! Nice work!
